It is with mixed emotions that Massillamany Jeter & Carson LLP announces the retirement of esteemed attorney Mark Sullivan, whose remarkable legal career has spanned decades of dedicated service to our community and justice system.

A true son of Indianapolis, Mark was born and raised in our community, attending parochial grade school and graduating from Cathedral High School before pursuing his legal education.
Mark's illustrious career began in southern Indiana, where he was appointed Chief Deputy Prosecutor for the 63rd Circuit in Pike County and subsequently elected to two consecutive terms as Prosecutor. During his 12 years in this role, Mark developed exceptional trial expertise handling cases ranging from juvenile matters and DUI proceedings to capital murder death penalty cases. His skillful handling of several high-profile prosecutions earned him widespread respect, with one case achieving literary recognition.
Returning to his Indianapolis roots, Mark was appointed Chief Trial Deputy for the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, where he supervised, hired, and mentored more than 150 trial prosecutors while personally litigating numerous high-profile felony prosecutions, including murder and death penalty cases.
Mark later joined Tabbert Hahn Ernest and Weddle, becoming a partner and leveraging his extensive litigation experience to represent clients in both state and federal criminal defense cases and civil matters. When Tabbert Hahn merged with a larger firm, Mark chose to establish his own practice, where he has served clients across various legal disciplines for more than a decade.
Throughout his career, Mark has represented a large municipality for its worker's compensation needs and protected its subrogation claims against third parties who injured its workers or damaged its property. He has also represented the Indiana State Chiropractic Association and many of its members on various legal matters.
"Mark's legal acumen, ethical standards, and dedication to his clients have set a high bar for all of us," added Massillamany. "His retirement marks the end of an era, but his influence will continue through the many attorneys he has mentored and the standards of excellence he has established."
